Frequently Asked Questions
A list of common questions and their respective answers
Question:
I ordered my goods on an overnight carrier, but 24 hours later I am still waiting for my goods. Can you tell me what the hold up is please?
Answer:
Goods ordered before mid-day are likely to be despatched the same day for a delivery the next day up until 5pm. Goods ordered after mid-day will be despatched the following day. In every case, we require a 24 hour despatch time from the time you order. In general, please allow 48 hours for delivery.
Question:
I ordered before mid-day and should have had a delivery today but there was no delivery. Can you advise please.
Answer:
Please ensure that you are in to receive your delivery if ordered via an overnight method. Failure to receive an order would mean the goods being returned to your local depot. The carrier we use should leave a card in this instance, but if not, please let us know and we can track the item for you.
Question:
I ordered an extractor fan with a humidity sensor, but the fan runs on and on and never stops. Is this a fault?
Answer:
This is one of the most common questions we receive. Generally, if the room the fan is going into is newly decorated, there is too much humidity from the walls, and therefore the fan is likely to run on for a few weeks in some extreme cases. We ask that you leave the fan for a while and see if the humidity levels sort themselves out enough for the fan to operate normally. If there is still a problem after a few weeks, then we will replace the unit, and if there is an obvious fault we will replace it.
Question:
If I am not in to receive my order, can it be left with a neighbour, or round the side of the house?
Answer:
The majority of our orders are despatched using Royal Mail, and in the instance that a standard delivery method is paid for, we have no way to add notes to a delivery. We cannot request specific delivery instructions, and it is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure a message is visible to the postman upon delivery. If a carrier is used, then we can request instruction to the delivery driver.
Question:
I ordered an ET05 and would like to use it to control cooling instead of heating. Is this possible?
Answer:
No, unfortunately the ET05 is used solely for heaters, and cannot be adapted to use on cooling systems.
Question:
I require a large amount of a specific item. Do you hold this much stock?
Answer:
Generally we are able to hold a lot of stock in our distribution centres, but on the occasions where we require extra stock, we can usually obtain this within a couple of days from the manufacturers themselves. Often we can despatch the goods to you within 2 working days. Just ask us for a quote.
Question:
How do I wire a timer fan that I bought from you?
Answer:
All timer fans require a permanent live and neutral PLUS an additional switched live which acts as the trigger to activate the timer. The switched live is usually provided by turning on the light switch.
